The group has won multiple awards, including a Latin Grammy Award for Best Mexican American Album and Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Latin Billboard Awards and Premio Lo Nuestro. Los Temerarios has also been inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame and received a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame. The group formed in 1978 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico, by the Angel brothers Adolfo and Gustavo and their cousin Fernando Angel. The band called itself Conjunto La Brisa until it got its first record deal in 1983 when it officially became Los Temerarios. Since it began in 1992, Los Temerarios have had 16 albums appear on the Billboard 200 charts. The group’s 2008 album has peaked the highest to date on the chart by reaching No. 26. More than 40 of Los Temerarios’ singles have been featured on Billboard’s hot Latin songs chart. With 17 Top 10 hits since the chart began, 1997’s Ya Me Voy Para Siempre, 1998’s Por Que Te Conoci, 2004’s Que De Raro Tiene and 2008’s Si Tu Te Vas all reached the No. 1 position. Having so many high-charting singles and releasing no new original music since 2014, Los Temerarios has focused more on releasing collections of favorites throughout the years. This includes the group’s most recent release from 2016. The greatest hits album entitled Solo Hits (20 Exitos) contains 20 of Los Temerarios’ beloved singles amassed from its 41 years together.
