December 5-14, 2024 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. - Organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, National Finals Rodeo (NFR) is the most prestigious cowboy competition in the United States. The first NFR took place in Dallas in 1959 and ran in the Big D for three years. The event briefly moved to Oklahoma City from Dallas, but since the 1980s, the NFR has called Las Vegas home. Both a competition and showcase, the NFR features a jam-packed schedule of rodeo events spread across several categories, including Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding. There's almost always a concert or performance in the main stadium each night, and a Miss Rodeo America competition runs throughout the week. NFR is a mega-event that attracts guests from around the world, and when the show is in town, Las Vegas straps on its spurs and caters to the cowboy crowd.
