On December 20, 2015, a woman drove onto the sidewalk in front of Bally’s on the Last Vegas Strip to mow down pedestrians. Police say the woman intentionally plowed her car into the pedestrians.
This happened on the same evening that Steve Harvey announced the incorrect winner of an international beauty pageant at Planet Hollywood next door… the Steve Harvey mishap received significantly more press than the chaos, injuries, and death that were happening on the nearby sidewalk outside of Planet Hollywood.
After the incident, the suspect drove with a flat tire up to the front entrance of the Tuscany Hotel on E. Flamingo Blvd where she was apprehended by the police.
The name of the suspect is Lakeisha Nicole Holloway. Holloway is charged with 71 counts, including murder with a deadly weapon. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges. She could receive a sentence of more than 100 years in prison if she’s convicted of numerous charges. After many delays, the trial has not yet taken place and is now scheduled for May 2024.
